And, what advice would you give to other TCK significant others?
The benefits of being a third culture kid – a reality check
A third culture kid TCK, 3CK or trans-culture kid is "someone who, as a child, has spent a significant period of time in one or more culture s other than his or her own, thus integrating elements of those cultures and their own birth culture, into a third culture. TCKs are often multilingual and highly accepting of other cultures. Although moving between countries may become an easy thing for some TCKs, after a childhood spent in other cultures, adjusting to their passport country often takes years.
Third culture kids TCK are people raised in a culture other than their parents' or the culture of the country named on their passport where they are legally considered native for a significant part of their early development years. TCKs move between cultures before they have had the opportunity to fully develop their personal and cultural identity. In the early 21st century, the number of bilingual children in the world was about the same as the number of monolingual children.
